NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) has a Expressway interchange (IC) and service area (SA) in Hokkaido during the summer traffic safety campaign period (Wednesday 11th to Friday 20th). ) And 10 areas in the parking area (PA), we will carry out a road safety campaign jointly with the Hokkaido police, local children and students.
During the coming summer and Obon holidays, it is expected that there will be a high possibility of accidents due to driving by people who are not familiar with cars or long-distance driving, and on the Expressway in Hokkaido for the second consecutive year 2016 A fatal accident occurred in July.
In this campaign, we call for prevention of "drowning driving", "side-view driving", "drinking driving", and "motorcycle accidents" in order to prevent accidents associated with leisure.

2 Implementation contents
We will hand out leaflets and goods to customers who use the Expressway, and call for traffic safety.
If you are tired from driving long distances or playing, refresh yourself by taking frequent breaks with SA / PA.
Even if you are not tired, please take a break once every two hours.
More than half of the causes of accidents on Expressway May to October are "sideways" (NEXCO EAST survey).
A momentary look aside can lead to a major accident. Never operate your smartphone or mobile phone while driving.

(4) Preventing accidents with motorcyclesIn 2017, 9 people were killed in an accident involving motorcycles on all Expressway managed by NEXCO EAST.
