NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu Ward) jointly with related organizations such as the Hokkaido Police during the spring national traffic safety campaign period (April 6 to 15) Spring road safety campaign "to hold.

2 Implementation contents
In this campaign, we will hand out traffic safety awareness leaflets and goods to customers using Expressway at each location to call for prevention of traffic accidents so that they can drive safely.
In addition, local governments and organizations in each region, local characters and campaign girls will also participate to develop campaigns in collaboration with the region. In addition, our Expressway etiquette-up characters "Manatee" and "Ikanshark" will also participate in the campaign in various locations.
We ask that you kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation as the IC entrance may be temporarily stopped due to the campaign.
3 Important points for this time
- Wearing seat belts and child seats-Obligation to wear seat belts, etc. in all seats
- Eradication of fatal accidents against people ... Warning that there are people on the Expressway some reason
- Preventing falling objects ... Checking cargo before departure
- Prevention of absent-minded driving and drowsy driving.
- Cautions for tire inspection ... Always check summer tires when replacing winter tires
Accident occurrence situation from January to June 2017 (NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office investigation)
In winter, most slip accidents occur due to incorrect steering wheel operation!
However, in early spring, 50% of all accidents were due to sideways and dozing.
Number of tire troubles (damaged vehicles) in 2016 and 2017 (according to NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office)
The number of broken cars due to tire trouble has increased rapidly since April!
Be sure to check the tires when replacing.
Trouble can be prevented by checking the air pressure regularly when the temperature is high.
On April 6, the Japan Automobile Tire Association will conduct a tire check free of charge at Watatsu PA (for Sapporo).
