4 Construction overview
Scheduled within 2018 E5A The opening of the Shirishi Shiribeshi Expressway Yoichi IC-Otaru JCT is expected to increase the traffic volume of the Zenikoh IC. At Zenisako IC, we are currently working on the improvement work from the IC type called "Flat Y-type", which requires a temporary stop, to the "Trumpet type", which does not require a temporary stop due to an overpass. Once completed, there is no need to temporarily stop when entering or exiting the Zeno IC to the main line, improving safety and comfort.
In this improvement work, a box will be newly buried under the main Expressway but first, the Expressway direction of Otaru (In-bound), which is about half of the Expressway will be excavated and the box will be buried, and then the direction of Sapporo (Out-bound One of the two lanes (line) will be transferred to Otaru direction, so that the traffic will be face-to-face instead of being completely closed to minimize the impact on traffic and carry out the construction.
In addition, from the end of August, we will continue to transfer one of the two lanes in the direction of Otaru to the direction of Sapporo, and then carry out the work to bury the box dock in the direction of Sapporo (Out-bound line).
Main work contents
We excavate the main line of the Expressway, assemble the factory-made box, install and backfill. By adopting a factory-made box, we will shorten the construction period and the traffic regulation period.
