NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Branch (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku) compiled the traffic conditions of expressways in Hokkaido during the Golden Week as follows.
Traffic volume during one period
- The average traffic volume in the major sections (average value of the eight major sections) is 16,100 units, 103% of the same period last year have become.
- The volume of traffic during the above eight major sections reached a maximum on the first day of the last three consecutive holidays (May 3).
- On May 3, the traffic volume between Tomamu IC and Tokachi Shimizu IC on the Doto Expressway reached a record high of 22,300.

2 Traffic congestion
