1 Power saving efforts
At the request of Hokkaido Electric Power Company and the government, we will make further efforts to save more than 10% of electricity in 2012 compared to 2010. Please understand in advance that some inconveniences may occur during use of the Expressway and SAPA during the period of efforts.
The contents of the action items are as follows.
1. Expressway related
- Reduced the road lighting between Sapporo Minami IC and Shinkawa IC by 1/2.
- Turn off the weather information board.
- Lighting of the office of the toll booth is reduced by 1/2 and parking lot lighting is reduced. The room temperature setting is 28℃.

2. SAPA relationship

Even if a planned power outage occurs, the Expressway can be used normally. We will use our own power generation facilities as much as possible so that our customers can use the Expressway safely.
We have confirmed that the planned power outage will not hinder driving on the Expressway, but some facilities may experience power outages and may cause inconvenience. Please.
1. When using the Expressway
You can use the Expressway as usual, but if a planned power outage occurs, please follow the information on the local signs, signs, etc. and drive with caution. Especially when driving at night or in a tunnel, please exercise caution by turning on the headlights and keeping a sufficient distance between vehicles at a safe speed.

2. When using the rest facility

- The lights of all facilities are turned off. As for toilet lighting, we will secure a minimum of lighting using a mobile generator.
- You can use the toilet, but we ask for your cooperation in cleaning with a water bucket.
- In the cafeteria, food sales will be suspended from 1 hour before power failure to 1 hour after power recovery.
- Shops and convenience stores will sell products other than frozen and refrigerated products as usual.
Please note that frozen and refrigerated products will be suspended for sale 1 hour before the power outage. - Gas stations (Usuzan SA, Wanatsu PA, Sunagawa SA) will be closed for business 30 minutes before power failure.
- You will not be able to use vending machines or tea dispensers (wheel thickness PA).
