A long and severe winter is about to arrive in Hokkaido. During winter, traffic accidents occur frequently and snow can cause road closures, so it is even more necessary to secure safe traffic.
Therefore, NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu Ward) positions the period from October 16 to April 30 of the following year as a snow and ice countermeasure period, and has a total of about 1,000 people to understand the weather, road conditions, and snow removal work.
