East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.
Hokkaido Regional Head Office
NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Sapporo City Atsubetsu-ku, Regional Head Office President: Yuki Yamamoto) is pleased to announce that during Golden Week [Saturday, April 25, 2009-Wednesday, May 6, 2009, 12 days], I would like to inform you of the "Trends of traffic congestion" and "Locations where traffic congestion is predicted and required transit time" due to traffic concentration on Expressway in Hokkaido.
Please use this to create a comfortable travel plan, such as shifting the departure time of customers before and after the time when peak traffic congestion is expected. At tollgates where congestion is expected to occur, we will work to reduce congestion by installing temporary booths.
During this year's Golden Week, the usage trend is expected to be different from the usual year due to the long traffic center of 5 consecutive holidays and the impact of special holiday discounts. Even in places where there is no traffic congestion every year, traffic congestion may occur, and traffic conditions may change significantly due to accidents and weather. Please check the road conditions on the day of use at the Japan Road Traffic Information Center, Highway Telephone, "DraPla", etc. before departure.
