Key changes from April 2025
- The toll for the In-bound line (Kisarazu → Kawasaki direction) (800 yen for ETC regular cars)
During the increase period, the price will be changed from 1,200 yen to 1,600 yen, and during the decrease period, the price will be changed from 600 yen to 400 yen. - In addition to the existing In-bound line, a new social experiment will be started on the Out-bound line (Kawasaki → Kisarazu direction)
The CA Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway has been experiencing severe congestion due to high traffic volumes at certain times on weekends and holidays. As a result, a social experiment on ETC time-based tolls, which varies discount rates during certain times of the day, has been conducted since July 22, 2023 (until March 31, 2025).
Based on the discussions at the "4th Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway Traffic Smoothening Measures Study Group (chairman: Chief of the Road Planning Division, Land Development Department, Chiba Prefecture)" held on December 3, 2024, we have decided to continue the social experiment until March 31, 2026, but to change the content of the social experiment from April 2025 *.
A social experiment will be conducted on the In-bound lanes (from Kisarazu to Kawasaki) on weekends and holidays using a new pricing system with greater differentials in fares, and a new social experiment will also be conducted on Out-bound lanes (from Kawasaki to Kisarazu) using time-based ETC pricing.
- It may be reviewed depending on the budget situation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Chiba Prefecture.
