NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and AirX Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) have announced that they will Tohoku Expressway. Chojabaru Chojahara This year, a new course has been added to the "Helicopter Sightseeing Plan," which takes off and lands at a service area (SA) (In-bound), allowing visitors to enjoy Matsushima, one of Japan's Three Most Scenic Spots. Sales will begin on August 1st on NEXCO EAST 's "DraPla Travel" website or the AirX Co., Ltd. website.

[Newly added this year] Matsushima Course - One of Japan's Three Most Scenic Views

Following on from last year, this flight will be the first in Japan (according to our research) to offer a helicopter sightseeing plan with take-off and landing at Expressway service area, in collaboration with AirX Inc., a company that is building infrastructure that will serve as a source of next-generation air mobility, including helicopters, private jets, and flying cars.
Last year, we had a wide range of customers from small children to people Expressway old take advantage of the service in a variety of ways, including boarding to celebrate special occasions such as employment celebrations, wedding anniversaries, and birthdays, stopping off on the way to Tohoku on the expressway, and seeing their homes from the sky, which they normally can't see. Some customers said that they discovered something new by looking at familiar places from the sky, as well as places they had never visited before.
This year, we hope to offer many customers a new way to enjoy SAs, so we have added a course that allows you to enjoy Matsushima, one of Japan's Three Most Scenic Spots. We also have a total of five courses available, including a reconstruction course where you can see the current state of reconstruction efforts, such as the Sanriku Coastal Road, which was opened as a reconstruction road following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Take advantage of this opportunity and be sure to stop by Chojabaru SA during the Silver Week in September (September 14th (Sat.) to September 16th (Mon., national holiday) and September 21st (Sat.) to September 23rd (Mon., national holiday)).

What is DraPla Innovation Lab?

As part of its DraPla innovation initiative, NEXCO EAST aiming to co-create with startups and others to use new technologies and services to help solve company or local issues, improve customer safety, security, comfort, and convenience, and ultimately return the benefits to a wider audience by utilizing the results not only on Expressway but also in the real world.
The program began accepting applications in 2021 as the first accelerator program run by a Expressway company in Japan, and is currently proceeding with demonstration experiments.
