We would like to inform you of the outline of NEXCO EAST 's (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) financial results for fiscal year 2023 (ending March 2024), which is the 19th fiscal year of the company.
This fiscal year covers one year from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.
Key Points of FY2023 Financial Results (Consolidated)
- In Expressway business, toll revenues increased due to an increase in traffic volume compared to the previous fiscal year, but the completed value of road assets decreased, resulting in operating revenues of 1,045 billion yen, a decrease of 4.4 billion yen compared to the previous fiscal year. Operating expenses decreased by 13.2 billion yen compared to the previous fiscal year to 1,043.9 billion yen, due to an increase in road asset rental fees to the Japan Expressway Holding and Debt Repayment Agency, but a decrease in road asset completion costs and management expenses.
As a result, Expressway business recorded an operating profit of 1.1 billion yen (compared to an operating loss of 7.6 billion yen in the previous fiscal year). - In the service area (SA) and parking area (PA) business, increased store sales compared to the previous fiscal year led to operating revenue increasing 2.8 billion yen year on year to 34 billion yen, and operating expenses increasing 1.2 billion yen year on year to 30 billion yen.
As a result, the SA/PA business achieved an operating profit of 3.9 billion yen (2.3 billion yen in the previous fiscal year), and the related businesses as a whole, including contracted and other businesses, achieved an operating profit of 4.4 billion yen (2.5 billion yen in the previous fiscal year). - The total business, including Expressway operations and related businesses, achieved an operating profit of 5.5 billion yen (previous year: operating loss of 5.1 billion yen) and a net income of 8.7 billion yen (previous year: net income of 7.3 billion yen).
