NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and Placy Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) are a co-creation project "Tohoku Tour" that fuses drive and entertainment in the Tohoku region, encounters various music, and creates new regional value. The trial of "Project" (hereinafter, "this project") will start from 14:00 on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

The "Tohoku Excursion Project", a co-creation project between Placy Co., Ltd., a company selected for the accelerator program "DraPla Innovation Lab", and NEXCO EAST, is an AR map app that provides driving routes around various tourist destinations and spots in the Tohoku region. In addition to providing entertainment that allows you to acquire various items (fashion items that your avatar wears) by completing the quest (*), you can also enjoy the entertainment inside the car by linking with the web interview content “DeepInsight Deep Insight”. You can enjoy a quest-type driving experience that will lead you to encounter the music that colors the area and discover unexpected charms of the area.

  • About the quest
    Originally, quest means "inquiry" and "adventure journey such as story". From here, in the game, it refers to the tasks and goals that the player achieves, and the adventure scenarios presented. In this project, one unique drive route is one quest.

Sharing music information linked with location information creates new value for driving

In the AR map application “SMACK Smack” (hereinafter referred to as “this application”) provided by Placy Co., Ltd., the skater avatar is the main character [Fig. 2]. This app is linked with music distribution services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.), and the location information of the customer's movement and the music information played are plotted on the map [Fig.3].
Music information played by other users is also displayed on the map, and by passing through the displayed points, you can collect music information that other people have heard at the same place and create an original playlist that matches the route and area. [Fig. 4].

NEXCO EAST Collaboration: Tohoku Migratory Project

Released an original quest that makes driving fun!

 There are also original quests for artists who are active in each music scene!
In this project, as a [NEXCO EAST collaboration], we will first release 4 (*) original quests with unique drive routes in the Tohoku region [Table 1]. Encountering music tied to driving routes and areas, and sharing different ways of enjoying interior spaces in the same place will create new value for driving.

  • Quests are the number at the time of release. More will be added in the future.

In addition, among the original quests, there are also quests supervised by artists who are active in each music scene. If you go around the driving spots that appear in each quest, you can touch the land and memories associated with the artist [Fig.5]. Also, if you clear all the spots, you can get original limited items related to the artist [Fig. 6].
And in the web interview content “DeepInsight Deep Insight” by Placy Co., Ltd., about the original quest, artists who are familiar with the area talk about the charm of the area, the music playlist suitable for quest capture (drive), and the thoughts on the selected songs. Posted an interview article that talks about. Music that matches the area and route colors the interior of the car, allowing you to spend a rich driving time.

ZEN-LA-ROCK

aka's "COMBINATE FUTURE" is the name of RAMMELLZEE. Operated by CAP brand NEMES, animation "Space Dandy", provided music to Momokuro's younger sister, Team Shachihoko, Redbull's TV commercial Napoleon edition, NHK E-tele "Gochisong DJ" appearance, "Booking.com" ROCK in a wide variety of ways such as WEB CM.

Masayoshi Iimori

A music producer / DJ who has released many releases from Diplo's <MAD DECENT> and DJ Snake's label <Premiere Classe>, and is still expanding his range of activities. The released songs are supported by various artists such as Skrillex, Diplo, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, Mija, Carnage, Anna Lunoe, Alison Wonderland, RL Grime, Baauer.

TORIENA

A music producer who self-produces lyrics, composition, arrangement, and vocals. It features a catchy and hard RAVE sound, and lyrics that make you feel a shadow even in pop. Appearing in "HYPER JAPAN 2017 (UK)" and "MAGFest 2018 (USA)", they are also very popular overseas. Provided music for beatmania IIDX, Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, SEGA "Team Sonic Racing", TV anime "Drop Kick on Devil", Softbank "MONEY RUN" BGM/SE, Bandai Candy "Chojuu Giga Gao Road", etc.

Since 2019, Placy has been developing an application that links music and land under the theme of "Forget the reviews. Follow your rhythm." This time, in collaboration with NEXCO EAST, we worked on reinterpreting the value of "movement". The purpose is to reorganize the meaning of human movement as remote work and delivery services become widespread and part of the social and lifestyle infrastructure shifts to online. Each region of the country has its own culture that has been cultivated over a long period of time. As a geomedia platform that unravels the sensibilities and stories and links them with the land, we would like to contribute to regional revitalization and the tourism industry while working with NEXCO EAST.

Co-creation between our company, which provides Expressway spaces that customers can use safely and with peace of mind, and Placy Co., Ltd., which colors spaces with various cultures, creates new value that provides customers with exciting experiences. With this goal, we have expanded various discussions while crossing the walls of all organizations. We hope that this project will bring new enjoyment, experience, and excitement to "moving" by car, and that the travel time on the Expressway and the interior space of the car will be more comfortable and memorable. In addition, in this project, NEXCO EAST employees also participated in the creation of playlists and quests to excite the drive. We plan to continue releasing new content (original quests, etc.) in the future. Please take this opportunity to enjoy a new experience that combines entertainment and movement.

    • "While driving", such as operating an app while driving, is a violation of the Road Traffic Law and is a dangerous act that can cause a serious accident. Please do not use while driving.
