NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) will hold the "NEXCO EAST 5th New Menu Contest" to develop restaurant menus for service areas (SA) and parking areas (PA).
The New Menu Contest is an initiative to develop a new menu with the theme of local production for local consumption as part of "making a local show window" where SA/PA actively handles local specialty products.
In this contest, 45 SA/PA restaurants (planned) will compete in the 7-block local qualifying session starting from the end of November, and the 10 highly successful chefs will be held in Tokyo on March 3, 2011. I will challenge the final competition that will be done. Mr. Kenichi Chen will be invited as the chairman of the judging committee for the final competition.
The menus of all 45 chefs will be available at each SA/PA after the final competition.

We would like to provide a place for families with children to enjoy meals and conversations with their parents during the trip. We hope that menus that use local ingredients, rather than just "children's lunch", will trigger "conversation" and "dandan" between parents and children, and the theme of this time is menu development including "children's menu".
