NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shigejiro Yagi) is proceeding with the construction. From the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway Nakajo Interchange (IC) to Arakawa Tonai IC (extension 9.7km) is July 18th. Open to (Sat).

With this opening, the high-speed transportation network in the northern part of Niigata Prefecture will be extended, which will make it easier to access the scenic tourist city "Murakami City" such as the castle town of the prefecture north, Senami Onsen. In addition, we make movement in Tokimeki Niigata National Athletic Meet smoother.

  • Travel time from Niigata city center to Murakami city center is reduced by about 5 minutes compared to general road use.
