NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Shigejiro Yagi) is during Golden Week (GW) [12 days from April 25, 2008 (Friday) to May 6, 2008 (Tuesday)]. We have summarized the traffic congestion forecast due to traffic concentration. GW is expected to have a long traffic jam, but you can avoid the traffic jam by shifting the day and time of use. You can check the traffic jam forecast on the NEXCO EAST information site "DraPla" and the "Traffic jam forecast guide" distributed at service areas, etc., so please use it to create a comfortable travel plan.
In addition, GW will cause more accidents and breakdowns during traffic congestion than usual, and it will further increase traffic congestion. Please drive safely and check the vehicle before driving.

As a feature of this year's GW, traffic congestion due to holidays and homecoming, Out-bound to the direction in the May 3 (Saturday) and 4 (Sunday), In-bound May 4 days for the district (day) and 5 (Monday) It is predicted that it will occur frequently.
Heavy traffic longer than 30km is predicted at Tohoku Expressway and Kan-Etsu Expressway from May 3rd to 6th. Also, Tohoku Expressway In-bound Adachi Tara Service Area (SA) (Honmiya City, Fukushima Prefecture) and Tohoku Expressway Out-bound Yamato Interchange (IC) (Yamato Town, Miyagi Prefecture) etc. Even in places where there is not much traffic congestion, traffic congestion over 20 km is predicted.
