NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) will temporarily close the entrance ramp and restrict the use of some parking spaces at the E4 Tohoku Expressway Hasuda Service Area (In-bound), which has been developed as a disaster prevention base, to conduct heliport operation training. The purpose of this training is to confirm the necessary coordination and coordination by actually having a helicopter take off and land at the disaster prevention base, and to improve heliport operation capabilities and strengthen cooperation with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Forces.

2. Disaster prevention bases

In response to the fact that rest facilities on Expressway were used as assembly points and relay points for related organizations such as the Self-Defense Forces and fire departments during the Great East Japan Earthquake, NEXCO EAST has developed rest facilities with functions that can be used by related organizations in the event of a disaster, and is operating them as disaster prevention bases.
