On the E6 Sendai Tobu Sendai-Tobu Road, which is managed by NEXCO EAST Sendai East Management Office (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture), a black pine forest has been maintained on the embankment slope since its opening. In the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred in 2011, the embankment and black pine forest on the Sendai-Tobu Road were able to prevent the invasion of the tsunami into the city area.
Seeds are collected from the black pine forest on the Sendai-Tobu Road and cultivated as seedlings, and the "Ishinomaki Minamihama Tsunami Reconstruction Memorial Park" developed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Miyagi Prefecture and Ishinomaki City, and the "Furusato no Mori Regeneration" that Sendai City is working on. We are pleased to inform you that we have donated black pine seedlings to the "Mirai no Mori Project" carried out by Vegalta Sendai as part of the "Project".
