NEXCO EAST Sendai Management Office (Aoba-ku, Sendai City) is carrying out construction to expand the parking spaces at the Izumi Parking Area (hereinafter referred to as "PA") on the E4 Tohoku Expressway Out-bound lane, in light of the congestion caused by large vehicles, especially on weekday evenings.
We would like to inform you that the provisional operation of the new PA will begin at midnight on Monday, March 31, 2025. (See Attachment 1 [PDF: 3.4MB])
After the provisional operation starts, the deceleration lane from the main Expressway to Izumi PA (Out-bound) will be moved approximately 130m from its current location toward the starting point (towards Tokyo). In addition, after entering Izumi Smart Interchange (Out-bound) from a general road, Izumi PA (Out-bound) will no longer be available.
