Aomori Prefectural Road Public Corporation (Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture), Aomori Prefecture, and NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Miyagino Ward, Sendai City) are pleased to announce that construction of new ETC equipment, which they have been working on jointly at the Shimoda Main Line toll gate connecting the E4A Second Michinoku Toll Road (managed by NEXCO EAST Prefectural Road Public Corporation) and the E4A Momoishi Toll Road (managed by NEXCO East Japan), has been completed and that ETC operation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025.
With the operation of the ETC lane at the Shimoda Main Line toll gate, customers who use ETC will be able to travel more conveniently and comfortably on the Second Michinoku Toll Road and Momoishi Toll Road, so please be sure to use it.

For ETC users

Please keep a sufficient distance between vehicles and enter the ETC lane at a safe speed (20km/h or less), and drive slowly within the ETC lane. Also, please be careful not to let your ETC card expire or forget to insert it into the on-board unit.
In addition, during times of traffic congestion, such as during the Golden Week holidays, ETC lanes may be operated in a mixed manner so that general vehicles can also use them in order to alleviate congestion.
You can also pay with an ETC card in the regular lanes, so if you are using the regular lanes, be sure to stop and hand your ETC card to a toll attendant.

5. Refunds for tickets (Michinoku Toll Road No. 2)

　第二みちのく有料道路では、ETCの運用開始と同時に回数券が使用できなくなります。そのため、青森県道路公社では残った回数券の払い戻しを実施します。
