Regarding Sendai-Nanbu Road, which is managed by the Miyagi Prefectural Road Corporation, the unified management of the Sendai metropolitan area high-speed ring network realizes a uniform toll system and ETC discounted toll service to further improve convenience for road users. Therefore, it will be transferred to East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. on July 1, 2013.
The transfer of the Sendai-Nanbu Road will contribute to tourism and industrial development throughout the Tohoku region, including Miyagi Prefecture, and is expected to be a great impetus for the early recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Prior to the transfer, a representative will be held to take over the ceremony.
1 Overview of Sendai-Nanbu Road
The Sendai-Nanbu Road managed by the Miyagi Prefectural Road Corporation is connected to the Tohoku Expressway, Sendai-Hokubu Road, Sendai-Tobu Road, and Sanriku Expressway managed by East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. It is the route that forms Sendai.
