Sado City, Sado Kisen Co., Ltd. (Sado City), and NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) have renewed their Dorawari "Sado Island Golden Pass" x Sado Kisen "Sado Island Golden Plan," a package deal that offers great value when travelling to Sado Island, and will start selling these plans from Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

This product is aimed at passenger cars and light vehicles with ETC cards, and is a set plan that combines NEXCO EAST 's Dorawari "Sado Island Golden Pass," which allows unlimited use of Expressway from the Tokyo metropolitan area to Niigata Port and Naoetsu Port for up to four days at a fixed price, with the Sado Kisen "Sado Island Golden Plan," which includes the round-trip car ferry fare and accommodation on Sado Island.The plan has been on sale since fiscal year 2023 and has been used by many customers.
We will be making the following three changes to make traveling to Sado Island more convenient:

1. Dorawari “Sado Island Golden Pass”

(1) Period of use

Available year-round from Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Can be used for up to four consecutive days.

• The service does not apply during periods of high traffic congestion such as Golden Week, Obon, Silver Week, New Year's holidays, and three-day weekends.
• For further details, please check NEXCO EAST website "DraPla".

(2) Applicable vehicle models

Regular cars and light vehicles (including motorcycles) using ETC
ETC corporate cards cannot be used.

(3) Application start date and time

Tuesday, March 25, 2020, 2:00 p.m.
After applying for the "Sado Island Golden Pass" on NEXCO EAST Dorawari website, please continue by applying for the Sado Kisen "Sado Island Golden Plan" using the link provided on the application completion screen or in the application completion email.

(4) Sales price

10,000 yen for regular cars, 8,000 yen for light cars etc.

(6) Precautions for Use

• This product is available exclusively to those using Sado Kisen Co., Ltd.'s "Sado Island Golden Plan."​
  If you have not applied for the above plan, you will be charged the toll for the section you used.
• You must board the car ferry round trip included in the Sado Kisen "Sado Island Golden Plan" within the period of use of the Dorawari "Sado Island Golden Pass" that you have applied for.
• Applications are limited to one vehicle per reservation for the Sado Kisen "Sado Island Golden Plan." However, if you plan to transport multiple vehicles using a car ferry, you can apply for multiple "Sado Island Golden Passes" for each vehicle.
• You will need to present the "Sado Island Golden Pass" coupon at the Sado Kisen Co., Ltd. car ferry terminal counter. Please check the coupon by logging in to your Dorawari My Page or from your application completion email, and present it at the counter. If you do not present the coupon, the "Sado Island Golden Pass" will not be valid.
• Traveling from an IC outside the tour area to an IC outside the tour area will be billed for the toll of all sectors used.
• If you travel from an interchange within the touring area to an interchange outside the touring area, you will be charged the toll for the portion outside the touring area separately.
• If you drive within the tour area at least once during the period selected at the time of application, this product will be applied and you will be charged the full amount of the product.
• Depending on the flight segment, day of the week, and time of day, those who use the regular ETC discount may have lower Expressway tolls.
• The smart IC may have a limited usage time.
• If you wish to cancel your Dorawari "Sado Island Golden Pass", please complete the procedure on the website before you start using the service. There is no cancellation fee for the "Sado Island Golden Pass". However, cancellation of the Sado Kisen Co., Ltd. "Sado Island Golden Plan" requires separate procedures, and cancellation fees vary depending on the travel conditions and terms of use for each plan.

Available year-round from Tuesday, April 1, 2025

• Reservations can be made up to two months prior to the boarding date.

• Same for plans with and without accommodation

Accommodation plan

This package includes a round trip car ferry to Sado Island (including transporting vehicles over 3m and under 6m) and accommodation on the island. By combining this with the "Sado Island Golden Pass", you can get a discount on the regular accommodation plan price (1,000 yen discount).

No accommodation plan

This is a round-trip plan for car ferry transportation (3m to 6m) to Sado Island. By using this plan in combination with the "Sado Island Golden Pass", you can get a better deal than the regular car ferry fare. (5% discount one way)

佐渡島について

The "​Sado Gold Mine on Sado Island" consists of the Nishimikawa Gold Mine, the Tsurushi Silver Mine, and the Aikawa Gold and Silver Mine, and in the 17th century it was one of the world's largest and highest quality mines in terms of both quantity and quality. It is the only mining site in the world where the remains of the mining village and magistrate's office are still well preserved today. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2024.
Sado Island is a beautiful island where ethnic culture, including faith and performing arts, flourished due to the large number of people who gathered at the mines from all over Japan. This ethnic culture is closely linked to the abundant nature, lifestyles, and livelihoods such as agriculture, forming a rich culture and community.
There is the Ryotsu-Niigata route, which connects Ryotsu Port and Niigata Port, and the Ogi-Naoetsu route, which connects Ogi Port and Naoetsu Port in Joetsu City.
