How to use transit adjustment
ETC customers
- Customers using ETC are requested to run the outflow designated IC wirelessly and the re-inflow designated IC wirelessly. (No transit certificate will be issued for ETC vehicles)
- ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate. - Insert the same ETC card for all journeys and pass through the ETC lane at the tollgate.
Customers such as cash
- Customers who pay by cash, etc. should receive the "passage certificate" at the outflow designated IC, and then get the "passport" at the re-inflow designated IC, and then make the "transfer" at the toll booth that pays the fare first. Please give us your "certificate" and "passport".
Common to ETC and cash customers
- If the suspension of traffic is released after the outflow designated IC is released, the fare will be adjusted even if it is re-introduced from the IC (including the outflow designated IC) in the closed road section in the forward direction.
Four. Construction overview
On Ban-Etsu Expressway inbound and outbound lanes, between Aizu-Wakamatsu IC and Niigata Chuo JCT, we will be repairing damaged road surfaces and carrying out construction, inspection, and cleaning work on tunnel facilities in the simplified median strip section. As this section has one lane in each direction, the work will be carried out with a road closure. In order to minimize inconvenience to customers, the road will be closed at night on weekdays when traffic volume is low, and the work will be carried out in a concentrated and efficient manner. This work is necessary to ensure that you can use Expressway safely and comfortably, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Regarding the closure of one lane on one side of Ban-Etsu Expressway
Generally, on Expressway with two lanes in each direction, lane restrictions are implemented as necessary to repair damaged road surfaces and inspect various facilities. The Ban-Etsu Expressway is a one-lane road, so road closures are essential for construction and inspections. For this reason, Ban-Etsu Expressway closes twice a year, in spring and autumn, excluding Golden Week and the summer peak season, to ensure safety and security on Expressway.
