NEXCO EAST The Nagaoka Management Office (Nagaoka City) will display streamers with Nishikigoi designs at E17 Kan-Etsu Expressway and E8 Hokuriku Expressway from October 26 (Thursday) to November 6 (Monday) in conjunction with Nishikigoi fairs held in Ojiya and Nagaoka Cities.
The Nishikigoi-patterned streamers were created in April 2023 in cooperation with Ojiya City, Nagaoka City, and Nagaoka Zokei University (Nagaoka City) to promote the birthplace of Nishikigoi, and will be displayed at Expressway for the second time.

1. Display period

　10月26日（木）から11月6日（月）まで^（※1）
　国内外の多くのお客さまが高速道路を利用される錦鯉の品評会の開催期間^（※2）に掲揚します。

2. October 29th (Sunday) 70th Nagaoka City Nishikigoi Fair (in front of Yamakoshi Branch)
   November 4th (Sat) and 5th (Sun) 63rd Niigata Prefecture Nishikigoi Fair (Ojiya City General Gymnasium)

2. Place of display

　E17関越自動車道　堀之内インターチェンジ（IC）から長岡ジャンクション（JCT）までの6箇所
　E8北陸自動車道　長岡JCTから栄スマートICまでの6箇所

3． About streamers

If you are hit by a strong crosswind while driving Expressway, the wind can take over your steering wheel and lead to an accident. Therefore, we have installed windsocks to notify customers of the strength of the wind.
Windsocks, like carp streamers, flutter horizontally the stronger the wind, and at a wind speed of 10 m/s, they flutter almost horizontally. A wind speed of 10 m/s is the wind speed at which a moving vehicle feels as if it is being blown by a crosswind. If you see windsocks flowing sideways, please grip the steering wheel firmly again and drive safely.

Please do not stop on the shoulder of Expressway to take photos of windsocks, etc., or drive in a manner that obstructs smooth traffic, as this is extremely dangerous. We ask that you please comply with traffic rules.
