NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) will provide services at four Expressway in Niigata Prefecture on Wednesday, November 24, with the aim of encouraging early replacement of winter tires and enlightening safe driving on winter roads. The winter tire installation rate was 73% for all vehicles (87% for large vehicles and 63% for small vehicles), and although the installation rate improved from the previous survey, about 30% of customers still did not have winter tires installed. .. Snowfall forecasts are available in Niigata Prefecture from November 26th (Friday) to 28th (Sunday). When using the Expressway, please be sure to wear winter tires and carry tire chains, and check the latest weather forecast and road information.

Survey method

  The maintenance manager must ensure that the tires of automobiles traveling on snowy roads do not wear out the groove depth below the usage limit recommended by the tire manufacturer (groove depth is 50% of the new tire). Must be.
  Also, in case of heavy snow, please refrain from going out unnecessarily. If you have to go out, you may be required to wear a chain even for winter tires, so be sure to carry a chain with you.

  At the beginning of the snowfall season, the feeling of driving on a snowy road has not returned, so even if you are wearing winter tires, you are more likely to have a traffic accident.
  Please drive slowly and safely without performing "sudden" operations such as "sudden steering wheel", "sudden acceleration", and "sudden braking", keeping the distance between vehicles more than usual and keeping the speed modest.
