Last year (2023), people refrained from traveling during the Obon period due to bad weather, so the number of traffic jams this year is expected to increase compared to last year. Note that last year's figures include traffic jams caused by accidents, etc.

2. Key points for alleviating traffic congestion
- Be careful of slowing down in areas where warnings are issued, such as when In-bound!
- While driving, please avoid stepping on the brakes unnecessarily and maintain a sufficient following distance!
- Please refrain from changing lanes recklessly during traffic congestion, as this may lead to further worsening of traffic congestion!

We ask for your cooperation in "fastening your seatbelt at all seats" and "frequently taking early breaks." In addition, we have issued warnings on Expressway to avoid rear-end collisions at the end of traffic jams, so please drive with caution when driving.
