We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the recent 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected.

NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has compiled traffic conditions for the New Year holiday period [Thursday, December 28, 2023 to 2024: 8 days], so we would like to inform you of this.

  • The average daily traffic volume was 103% compared to the same period last year.
  • The number of traffic jams over 10 km was 30 times, which was 79% compared to the same period last year.
  • The number of traffic jams over 30 km was 2, which was 200% compared to the same period last year.
  • The longest traffic jam was 43.2km, which occurred around 5:20pm on Tuesday, January 2nd, starting near the Kawagoe IC on the E17 Kanetsu Kan-Etsu Expressway (In-bound line).
