About free measures on Expressway

July 2018 We are implementing free measures on Expressway for vehicles engaged in disaster dispatch (including disaster volunteers) due to heavy rain.

In order for vehicles engaged in disaster dispatch, etc., to receive the free Expressway measures, it is necessary to apply to the nearest prefecture or municipality in advance and receive the "Vehicle Certificate for Disaster Dispatch Work".

1 Prefectures affected by the disaster

Okayama Prefecture

Hiroshima Prefecture

Ehime Prefecture

2 Target vehicle

1. Vehicles for transporting relief supplies, etc. to the evacuation shelters of disaster victims or disaster countermeasures headquarters (including material collection centers) in prefectures, towns and villages affected by the request from local governments
2. Vehicles for transporting supplies, personnel, etc. for recovery and reconstruction of the disaster area at the request of local governments
3. Vehicles used by local governments for disaster relief
4. Vehicles used for disaster volunteer activities requested and accepted by the affected local governments

3 Procedure for issuing disaster dispatch vehicle certificate

• Vehicles from 1 to 3 above (vehicles other than disaster volunteers)
  Please apply to the nearest prefecture or municipality in advance and receive the "Disaster dispatch engagement vehicle certificate".
• Vehicle of above 4. (vehicle of disaster volunteer)
  in advance Appendix 2 [PDF: 199KB] Please follow the procedure in 1 above to receive the issuance of a certificate for engaging vehicles such as disaster dispatch.

4 How to drive on Expressway

• Please do not go through the ETC lane, and go through the lane with attendants.
• Please collect a toll ticket at the entrance toll gate.
• At the exit toll booth, please hand over the ticket with the certificate to the toll booth staff.
