Let's draw the future of the town with Umbrella Sky! We cooperated with recycling art

East Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd.

Our Tohoku Regional Head Office donated 30 vinyl umbrellas that were scheduled for disposal to Miyagino Elementary School in Sendai City so that they could be used in children's recycled art.
Miyagino Elementary School's 6th graders continue to participate in the project ``Let's envision the future of Miyagino Town'' as part of their Japanese language and general studies class, and this year marks the 4th time the event has been held.
In this initiative, children independently think about what they can do to improve their town and how they should act, and actually take action. As a specific activity, we are creating a recycled art called ``Umbrella Sky'' using umbrellas scheduled for disposal.
The donated umbrellas were colorfully colored by the children and exhibited at the Miyagino Ward Central Civic Center in Sendai City from January 26th to February 18th, 2024.
The realization of ideas that incorporate children's wishes is leading to the creation of a town with a bright future.
